Service Repair Manual Options?

I know their are different manuals out there, can anyone recommend a good service manual that covers everything for the C70 Convertible, it has the engine code B5234T3 2.3 HPT 5 speed manual. My C70 has been stored for a while, have not been able to work on it so I want to try and finish up a few things on it that were never resolved. I wish there was an OEM Volvo service manual but I suppose they did not have one, I know my 1998 Cadillac Seville STS that I restored had 3 thick OEM GM service/shop[ manuals( electrical, engine, transaxle, chassis etc. ) specific to the Seville STS.

Mechanically they are little different to the V/S70, so a basic Haynes manual will cover that.

Vida has information, but not sure what it has specific to the C70 as I don't look at it as no need to. If I remember later I will look and see if there is anything C70 related like the roof. Wiring diagrams for the C70 do exist as I did use one for the speaker system to figure out how it worked.

Volvo, unfortunately, doesn't do manuals like GM. There are basically multiple "books" (they're magazine sized) online that you can download. You'll want to study any procedure first, as they're often not clear. I think this is caused by being translated. Also units are often not converted correctly, so either use metric, or convert yourself to verify the SAE units given. I'm thinking of torque mostly.

Your options for legit service manuals are:

Scanned Volvo Green Books from Original Technical Publications
VTI subscription, maybe. I'm not sure if the old P80 stuff is in there.
Mitchell or Alldata subscription. Possibly available through your local public library.
Haynes manual - this used to be worth having as a supplement to the OEM manual because it shows different methods for some procedures. But these days, YouTube and forum posts are probably better.
Chilton manual - don't bother! It's garbage.

Other options:

VADIS software
VIDA software

These are the digital manuals used by dealers. VIDA is the more recent one. These are the most convenient and comprehensive, but a VIDA subscription is very expensive. Some people obtain VADIS and/or VIDA from other sources. In some cases the photos in the Green Books are more legible than in VADIS.

For a service manual, the forums here are pretty good at covering borderline everything. Personally I also like having a copy of VIDA, the easiest way of acquiring is through Diaglaptops (link: https://diaglaptops.com/wp/) who has a variety of options. If you have a computer from about the last 13-14 years and can change a boot order in a BIOS, then the Boot&Go option they have is easy and straightforward (if not then they also have pre-configured laptops for good prices).
