No really, the US administration said yesterday Polestar cannot sell cars here after 2026 model year cars are sold. Polestar and Volvo share parent Geely.

Polestar has a bit of a confusing history with Volvo. For many years it was both a racing team (about two decades) and a factory tune you could buy for your Volvo (only for about a decade), and once or twice an actual trim level on new Volvos like the C30/V60/S60 Polestar. It's confusing. See the link below for a full de-confusing.

Then in 2017 the name was entirely repurposed and applied to a new EV carmaker that Geely spawned. It's traded as PSNY ticker symbol.

Polestar cars are built on the same platforms modern Volvos use: CMA, SPA / SPA2.
