Im not sure if any one can help me but I just got the lights for my heat controls fixed and now Im down to the last lighting issue in the car. I have a few lights out on my radio but I need to get a whole new unit. Where would be the cheapest place to get a whole new cd/cassette player (Radio) or is anyone trying to get rid of one or know of one for sale? Please let me know. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Now, I do know that the radio in your S40 is the same one that is in our S70's. The light replacement in your radio isn't that hard either: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/volvo_ ... cement.php

If this is all that's wrong with your radio, don't go buying a new one.

This is great news. The dealership told me that the whole unit had to be replaced. Now, where can I pick up these bulbs? Would I have to go to a honda dealership or is this something that I can pick up at an autoparts store?

Honda dealership seems the easiest/fastest. If you can wait, there are a couple of vendors mentioned in the thread at the bottom of the how-to write-up that sells the bulbs for cheaper, but you'll have to order them through the internet or by phone and wait to have them shipped to you (like I did).

Sorry it took so long to reply back. Changing out those bulbs couldn't have been any easier. There is one problem though...After a few days of being changed and all of the lights being on in the car, the same bulbs don't work on the radio. Can anyone help me out with that?

I had a similar problem although it wasn't in a few days. I took the radio out again, checked each little bulb with a magnifying lens to make sure they were still okay and then used very fine sand paper to rough up the surfaces in which they mount- then they all worked fine again. It seems that corrosion really plays a part on the contacts (bulb side too).
