88 760 blower stops under acceleration

1988 760 turbo wagon 92 k
under heavy acceleration blower motor seems to cut out,
but as soon as you back off on the gas pedal, it comes
back up.also when is not a good idea to go synthetic,this volvo has 92k,,i have another 740 non-t with 88k,and a 850 non-t
with 141k,,,thanks ,Brad

This is one I have not come across before.

I assume you have the automatic climate control as I believe the '88 turbo was only fitted with that system.

When this happened what was the outside temperature and were you using air con or just the heater?

I could agree with that diagnosis from what I have read in one of my magic little books.

However, if you have the automatic heating system you should be able to read fault codes. Is yours automatic or manual?

Bill don`t have a code reader for rthis 88,,,does not have a onm-board diag,,,,Brad

With the ECC you don't need a code reader. The diagnostics are built into the unit.

bill ,did not know that ,,my other 740`s i plug in and codes come up,,,,do you have a more detailed way to retrive codes
from the 760,,,sorry what about the ? of syn oil,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Fault codes on the way.

I have amended your email address in the post above to stop it being picked up by bots and you ending up with a load of spam.

As for the synthetic oil question, this is something I do not go into as i have no first hand knowledge of full synthetic oil. Over here we use semi synthetic as the full blown stuff is now £39.14 ($60.56) for 5 litres making for very expensive oil changes. That is a discount price.
