I just got back from the dealer with a diagnosis of oil leaks from my turbo, oil pan seal, and camshaft seal. $900 each to replace the two seals and $2,000 to replace the entire turbo unit(?) on my 2000 V70XC with 112K.
@ 105K I spent $750 to replace the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system per dealer saying it was clogged and that if I didn't I might have damage to my engine seals.
First question, isn't cleaning of the PCV system supposed to be part of each 15K service (I've had all services done religiously)? If so, why would it clog?
Second, I'm not having warm fuzzies about this dealer's recommendations after reading some other posts here. While I hope no one has had a similar experience, if someone has, please let me know what you did.
I will also share my (limited) knowledge about how I fixed my MAF when the dealer said it needed to be replaced ($400). Here's a hint, just take it out and clean it with MAF spray cleaner! No problems since.
Thanks!
