1992, 240 with approx 195 K miles. I replaced the shocks and struts a few weeks ago. After 200-300 miles a noise apprearing in the front (passenger side). Not sure if it's related to the strut replacement or not. After the replacement everything was quiet for the first 200-300 miles.
Noise sounds like it's definitely something in the front suspension. I hear a tapping noise when I go over even the smallest bump. It sounds like plastic. I thought for sure the underside pan was loose, but I had it on a lift today and checked and shook everything I could and found nothing loose.
The only thing I didn't do was put a bar under the front wheels and check the ball joints (will do that tomorrow). Any other thoughts on what could cause the noise? I did recheck all of the installation points of the struts and everything is as it should be.

You didn't leave an assistant under there, did you?
Check the ball joints as you may have disturbed something when you did the suspension job causing it to fail.
Bill.

No, but I wondered if I left a tool in the plastic tray because that's what it sounded like. Unfortunately...no tool was found:-)
I will check the ball joints if the weather will warm up here. In the meantime think I will drive the pick-up.
