Do I have all parts for top motor mount?

I bought a new bushing for the top motor mount on my 1997 850, and plan to install it according to the instructions given by Geevs. (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/engine_mount2.php) However, after removing the old pieces (mine completely disintegrated after 170,000 miles), I noticed that the bolt holding the bushing in place is smaller than the hole through the bushing. There doesn't seem to be any way to make sure the bushing doesn't slide up and down around the bolt except to really tighten the nut on the bolt. I can't find any missing parts, but could there be some sort of sleeve that fits over the bolt and inside the bushing so that everything is snug? It is hard to imagine that the bushing is so tight that it has to be forced in, but the bolt is very loose.

Which one did you buy?
Yes, many of them do have a sleeve that the long bolt goes through, such as this one: http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/p ... ory_id/109

I suppose you could take the bolt with the bushing to a Home Depot and look for a metal sleeve that you can use...make sure it's stainless or aluminum. You don't want this piece to rust and ruin the good looks of the new mount. Btw, if I were to do this, I would shoot the sleeve full of RTV so that the metal against metal of the sleeve/bolt don't end up rattling and bugging you to death. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

What I have is not like the ones in your photo. I think mine is an OEM just like the original. I got it from the dealer ($26) and both the poly shell and the metal sleeve are just like the original. I can't believe Volvo would leave that much slop between the bolt and the sleeve, but I can't find any missing pieces. Okay...I think I understand now...yeah, the Volvo mount is truly not very good.

The reason your last photo shows up is because I edited your first post. The current photo you're posting doesn't have the full link to do this to. When you post in the posting window, click on the Img tab at the top and drop in the photo's URL between the two tabs that show up in your post and the photo should be visible to all.

No problem at all - tough job getting the darn thing shoved into the opening, but finally got it. No idea why that has to fit so tightly, considering that the bushing at the firewall has lots of give. Oh well.

I found one unexpected benefit. For about a year, I had had a chattering clutch which I attributed to varnish buildup. It was an annoyance, but otherwise not a problem. The chatter disappeared the instant I got the new bushing in!!

I'd apparently been driving with no bushing at all for several thousand miles.
