Answered your PM...it's the ABS/Traction control (STC) coming on... these make this sound. Check to see if show/ice is packed in your wheel well or around your ABS wheel sensors. Once cleared, you should be driving without it engaging unless you're on a slippery surface. Does yours not have a button to turn STC off? If so, try without it on and see what happens.

Oh...just thought of something...if your e-brake is frozen on, it will also make this sound (but it's from the rear- sound will travel up the e-brake cable though and confuse you).

Same with STC off during braking only.

You know how the hub is serrated..... if you look down on it it looks like (IIIIIIII). Well sounds like the ABS sensor is making direct contact with the hub.

I guess I just never noticed it last snow we had.

If it were mine, I say oh well and drive it. It's Kim's car and I won't let her drive anything I have the slightest question about.

Look at your other hub to sensor contacts and adjust accordingly. Btw, I thought you were going to call me. If you are, give me about 30 mins (1:15 EST)- I'm hopping in the shower now- been in my bath robe all day- snowing here in KoxVegas and it's hard to get motivated. Have reports to write that are due tomorrow.
