I am going to replace the speakers in my 95 850, and I was wondering if there are any special requirements to install the aftermarket speakers other than what is used to replace them as if they were OEM? Also, I measured the speakers to be as follows: dash, 2"; front door, 5"; rear door, 5.25"; rear, 6x9". Are these measurements correct?
Thanks,
Jayzeth

I looked through this thread before I posted yesterday, because I wanted to search the forums to find information about the speakers. However, I couldn't find any information about the speaker sizes or how to specifically replace them. Anyone got any ideas?

The speakers in the dash are 2" I know for a fact you can fit 3.5" in their place. you will need an adapter if you dont want to cut the wires. usually if you order from someone like crutchfield they will include any needed harnesses. the front doors have 5.25" speakers they have push on connectors that should work with an aftermarket speaker easily. the read deck is the same way they are 6x9's that have a two wires that push onto the speaker terminals.
I just finished installing my system in a '96 850
front dash is boston acoustics fx3 (powered by radio)
front door is boston acoustics 5.5 pro series (powered by amp)
rear deck is boston acoustics fx92 powered by the radio)
the radio is an alpine cda-9831 hooked to an alpine changer
the amp i used is a Xtant 603x
and to control the bass i installed an audiocontrol epicenter
for subs i used boston acoustics 10.5LF pro series subs in a sealed box
so i wouldnt kill the factory charging system i used an optima deep cycle battery in the back with a 1 farad capacitor, and an optima red top to start the car. the alternator only puts out 100 amps.
