Hi All,
My 98 S70 T5 isn't starting after a batch of cold weather recently. I'm trying to diagnose at this point, and I'm focused on the fuel pump relay right now.
Could somebody please instruct me as to how to jump the fuel pump relay? I see that MIJ points to viewtopic.php?t=9681, but that actually shows how to repair the relay, not how to jump it (to discover if it really is the cause of a no start).

On the bottom of the relay, molded into the plastic next to the terminals, are numbers 31, 31b, 15, and 87. Put the jumper wire between the socket positions associated with pins 15 and 87.

Hey all;
I'm having issues that sound like this is the right place to post them. Wife's 98 V70 (217,700 miles) wouldn't start the other night. It was cold (maybe 25f). Had it jumped and it ran fine. Got it home into the garage and it started again just fine the next AM. Didn't drive the car, she took mine. I took the battery out to get it tested, it was fine and fully charged. This AM I went to start it, it started and then died. The engine turns over fine, and will sputter if I let it crank long enough so I am getting spark. Suspect the fuel pump relay and or fuel pump. Not getting the fuel pump sound when the key is turned on.
Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1998 V70 non turbo?
I can only find a 20amp fuse, which tests good.
I have not checked pressure at the Shrader valve at the end of the fuel rail yet.
Also, I noticed that the key was acting funny when I went to turn it off after trying to start it. It seemed like it wanted to continue to crank even after the key was returned back to the run position. Weird?

It is under the cover where the fuse box is. The cover is held on by 4 T-25 Torx screws. Relay 103 is the fuel pump relay.Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1998 V70 non turbo?

Thanks. Got it started, seems to run fine. Had to let it crank a while, but it fired off. Pretty rough idle at first but it settled in like it typically does. No check engine lights on. Not sure what the heck is going on. I'm going to let it sit for a while and try it again.
Checked fuel pressure at fuel rail and there was plenty before I started it.
I'll check the pressure again after a few hours.
We're supposed to take it on a family ski trip this weekend. See how it acts in a few hours and decide which vehicle to take!
