burnt rubber smell

i have 94 850 turbo when i go up a hill and turbo kicks in i smell burnt rubber

Some other info would be helpful, How many Ks/Miles, any service records you know of? Any recent work done? How long has this been happening?

ihave 125000 no recent repairs its been happening since nov 08 i have owned it since june 08 last owner gave me all service records

I was going to be a smarty pants and suggest that you look at your front tire tread depth after you light up the tires. I restrained myself.

It is often difficult to diagnose smells via the written word since we can't smell what you smell and we might describe it differently than you do.

You have a '94 so you have OBD-I readout capability. There are diagnostic boxes under the hood next to your windshield washer fluid filler bottle.

Grab a pencil and a piece of junk mail and pull any codes from port A-2 and post them back.

Here is how to read the codes :

I suspect that you are running rich and the catalytic converter is complaining about it but the codes will tell us more.

i checked the codes a1 was 114 a2was111 a7 was122 b1 was135 b2was122 the rest was 0 and yes it dose burn tires i have a 91 corvette im not sure which one is faster after 25 mph

The engine codes are happy so my catalytic converter theory is gone.

I think I might be inclined to pop the timing belt cover off and check the belt - it could be moving off of its centerline and rubbing on something. That, of course, could lead to very bad things.
