2001 V-70 Headlight Switch Replacement Procedure

Post by V70_Owner »

I own a 2001 V-70 2.4T GLT with a diagnosed defective headlight switch. I'd like to replace it without paying VOLVO $262 but don't know how to remove the existing one.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Seems pretty straight forward and on your model, I don't believe you need a software download after it is replaced either:

The replacement part number you need is #9441046 if you don't have fog lights and #9441232 if you have them. These part numbers should be fine unless you have "headlight adjustment" (I would say that your V70 has these adjustments up front on the headlight bracket itself) or "fuel leakage" diagnostics built into the switch, which I doubt...it should be obvious if that's the case as there will be more than just the one connector on the back. Good luck and post back if you need the other part numbers- there are a whole bunch of them depending on how your car is trimmed out.

will a head light switch with the aim adjusting wheel work in a 2001 V70 that did not come with adjustable head lights. Also if such a switch was added could one put in the head lamps that are adjustable and it will work? Plug and play?

Danke.

I have no idea about either of your questions...I just see the part numbers are different for each.

It's possible for a MY 2001 USA/CDN market car to have "leak detection" diag. If the existing headlight switch has a fuel button on the left side under the knob, it has "fuel leakage diagnostics."
