1998 V70XC turn signal relay location

Post by twlaub »

Turn signals were intermittent and are now out. The bulbs are all good--I can manually imitate the turn signal. The hazard lights also do not work. I suspect the turn signal/hazad relay. Does anyone know where the turn signal relay is located on a 1998 V70XC? I've seen a few posts about other models around the net but not for this car. I suspect it may be with the hazard light relay behind the dash under the radio. If so, how do I go about getting at it.

See the hazard light button on the dash? That's the relay. You can pop it out by removing the radio and pushing it out from behind. It's probably dead...~$70 from the dealer.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know if the turn signal relay and the hazard relay are separate items or an integrated relay? In looking for parts I find a general purpose relay on the order of $25 and a hazard relay on the order of $65. I have not yet removed the radio to get at the hazard relay and look for any other relays but will tomorrow.

They are one and the same on your car. The part # is 30739334; it's $55 from FCP Groton.

Thanks. I'm trying eEuroParts this time. I kind of like their diagrams of systems so you can find other related parts. Of course there is no diagram of the hazard relay but I knew what I was looking for. Thanks again for the help.
