'80 242GT pass side mirror won't stay in place

Post by docachna »

Despite cranking down the adjusting screw inside the car on the mirror handle as tight as it will go, this passenger side mirror just won't stay up in place. I don't see anything inside the mirror or handle that needs shimmed or anything.

Any suggestions on how to get this to tighten ? I'm tired of looking at the pavement pass me by.......

Thanks.

The attached is from VADIS. Is part #8, the stop lug, still in place?

That part isn't in either mirror. They both go together the same, but the one tightens down and the other doesn't......
