I have a 2003 V70 D5 manual transmission with approaching 100,000 miles, over the last year and getting progressivly more noticeable I hear a low level whoosing noise, which builds from nothing upwards, it only happens under the following condition.
Normally at low road speeds (could be a back ground noise issue) lift your foot and as the drive transfers from engine driving wheels to wheels driving the engine a noise like air leaking will build from nothing upwards (never real loud) the moment I touch the accelerator it goes away instantly.
More recently it seems to be doing the same thing at very gentle throttle movement, the moment load comes on the noise goes away.
What could be happeining here ?, is it some form of air sound as it appears, is it worn CV's ?, is it something else ?, I have no ideas.
Any suggestions ?
Terry
