C70 Convertible 2001 Transmission corrupted

I own a 2001 Volvo C70 HPT that I purchased with 35,000 miles 3 1/2 years ago. The car now has 88,000 miles and I need to replace the transmission.
My transmission mechanic has performed 3 gly-tek tests that have detected traces of antifreeze coolant in the transmission fluid.
Apprarently the transmission cooler within the radiator has began to leak and has leaked small amounts of ethylene glycol into the transmission causing the transmission to begin to fail. The clutches within the transmission has started to delaminate and the transmission is beginning to hesitate when drive is engaged and it also has started to "lurch" when the car slows down and downshifts.
My transmission mechanic has told me that the real creator of this expensive repair is the radiator. Interestingly enough the new replacement radiator has been redesigned by Volvo due to this earlier design problem/defect.
Has anyone had this unfortunate issue with the failure of their Volvo radiator's transmission cooler creating a transmission failure? If so, what did you do, if anything and did you have any success in attempting to deal with Volvo to remedy this problem?

Welcome to MVS.
What you describe is extremely rare- what is more typical is oil cooler and antifreeze compartments in the radiator being breached. The 3 part radiator was in all of the 850's and even my S70- I have never had any of these issues- same as most people. Sorry to hear your bad news.
