EGR vs. Non-EGR intake manifold gaskets (come inside!)

Post by dville_gt »

I ordered an egr intake manifold gasket and then figured out that my intake doesnt have egr, but after getting the non-egr gasket it became clear that the egr gasket is the right one for my intake manifold. Anyone noticed this. There is definitly no egr hooked up to the bottom of my manifold, yet the gasket with the humps lines up perfectly, and the gasket with the straight square holes is not right at all. I am confused, does FCP have this wrong?

The intake manifold gasket design changed in 1995. I had a 95 850 that had EGR, but used the newer non-EGR (for the SAS pump models) intake manifold gasket. I remember at the time, FCP did mention that in their website that after a certain engine number had used the newer gasket.

The gasket I had worked fine. What year is your 850?

The differences I remember from the intake manifold gasket, is that the screw hole at the very end (driver side) is on the bottom if you have the newer non-EGR gasket otherwise the top screw hole would be utilized.

Not sure what you mean by square straight holes, but if its what i'm thinking, FCP might have sent you the wrong part.
