Right or wrong, I do it at the same time. I'm already in my grubby clothes and covered in grime. I try to batch car repairs by doing a major repair (Timing belt, PCV, brakes, etc.) on one of them and then little stuff like oil changes on all of the rest of the fleet while I am still filthy.

I don't think it's that important. If you really feel like it is, then change it or wait on the PCV replacement.

Misha,
One thing to consider. If you have a lot of sludge in the passages into the engine, cleaning might cause some of the sludge to get pushed into the oil sump, and an oil change might help flush it out. If there isn't much sludge, probably not an issue.

Good point- if you have sludge, try to dig it out and pull it out rather than push it in...

I was thinking about that too but wasn't sure.
I think that i have all pieces of a puzzle now,i'll notice you guys for results when i finish.
