electrical problems

Post by devin mcnulty »

Hello,
I am very excited that I bought a 98 s70 yesterday, however I noticed (after I bought it of course) that there were some electrical problems including: some wires or something were touching in the horn, that shouldn't be touching, and it was causing the horn to malfunction everytime I turned the wheel to a certain position, the horn would go off. I took the fuse for the horn out, but that took the power of my windshield wipers away. I was just wondering how to go about fixing, or how much something like that would cost to fix?
also, one of the windows doesn't roll up or down from the drivers seat console, and I noticed last night that there was something loose in the driver side door.

any suggestions would be very helpful,
thanks,
Devin

Try disconnecting the wires where they plug into the horns until you can get it fixed. There is an air bag inside the steering wheel so don't open it up unless the battery is disconnected and you know the procedure. Know your radio code before doing the latter.

I have seen window switch units for sale on ebay. The dealer would just replace it since they are just friendly parts changers.
