Need to replace or get rebuilt. Cost 3 - 3.5K. Any good rebuilders out there to purchase from?

Probably NOT your dealer. A lot of the time they just ship it out and add a markup.
Ask around in your area for a good shop that does GM transmissions, good chance you have one of those. If you see a shop that has a lot of government/police vehicles, this might be one to check.

We had our 1996 850 Turbo's tranny done at Aamco. They found a transmission from another 850 and rebuilt that one and stuck it in our's. So far so good. They offer up to a lifetime warranty too.
