Driver door lock problem on 2005 S80

Sometimes when I press the unlock button on my remote, I hear the door lock motor operating, but the driver's side door remains locked. If I re-lock the doors and press the unlock button again, the driver's side door will then unlock.

Is this a common issue? What's going on? What should be repaired?

Is there a web page I can look at to see how the door can be taken apart?

Try locking and unlocking the door with the key a few times to reset the locking system. Probably just a glitch that needs restoring.

I tried working it with the key, but the problem remains.

But I have figured out how to duplicate the problem. If I lock the doors before I close it, it won't unlock the next time.

Something about closing the door causes something inside to "come apart."

I'm going to bring it in to the dealer to see if they're willing to fix it. If not, I might consider closing the door first and then locking it with the remote.

I don't have any problems if I close the door first and then lock it.
