960 Timing Belt
960 Timing Belt
If you have the timing belt on a 92 960 break, does it also bend the valves? What kind of damage should I expect? Thanks

It appears the motor is an interference motor so valve and piston damage is expected. Especially if at high rpm when it broke.
You can put a head/or valves and pistons in if damaged but remember to weigh the cost vs a good salvage motor and a reasonable charge to put it in.
I would rather spend $500 on a low mileage motor and $250 plus hoses, new timing belt/water pump (figure $1200) etc to put the motor in as compared to a $600-$1200 repair (24 valves at $50 each is $1200 in valve parts alone.)
