Can anyone help. I have a V70 2.5 turbo and it smokes a bit from the exhaust. Not actually under hard acceleration but just when ticking over. I can also smell exhaust fumes inside the car. Is this bad news?

Most turbos are either 2.3 or 2.4. The 2.5 was used in the XC starting in 2003 My sons '99 S70 T-5 got 30MPG on a 200 mile trip .
