cooling fan not working?

I,ve started having poblems with the temps rising into the red, and the blowers only blowing cold air or luke warm. I,ve checked the fuses all look ok all cables look to be connected and I,ve just changed the thermostat topped up water and taken it for a run but after about 2 miles the same problem. so now I could do with some help is there anyone out there who could advise thanks dean...

You changed the thermostat and still nothing, huh?
I would be willing to bet that the problem all along is the ECT sensor- it's the engine coolant temp. sensor that resides at the base of the thermostat housing- these go bad and all kinds of crazy things begin to happen along with the fan not coming on. Good luck and let us know if that was it.
