I am new to the fourm. I'm a young lady and typically I guess, I don't know enough about cars. Here is what happened and I am trying to find out what the problem could be.
I started the car as usual this morning, the AC was on as usual, and a few minutes into my commute, I notice fluid on the passenger side floor. I turned the AC on and off and on drove for anoth 15 minutes and about a quart of fluid was now on the floor. It was rather oily to the touch. In any case after another 5 minutes my car sputtered to a stop. I was able to start it but it sputtered to a stop again, after another start I made it to the office. At the end of the day the car started fine, no problems so I drove home- AC was on and about 15 minutes into my drive on the highway at about 50mph, white smoke started coming out from under the hood and the car stalled. I stopped the car and opened the hood and there was fresh oil all over the enigine coming that looked as though it came from the cap.
With that long back story, does anyone have any idea what might have happened. Someone said that maybe the AC compressor blew but another said that a backed up hose cause a head gasket to blow....I have no clue can someone help, please!!!
