I would complain about the dealer jerking you around by not telling you what the diagnostics said and having you come back multiple times for more work. The national office might get on the dealer and make them do right by you.
I think your symptoms qualify as a malfunctioning ETM based on this quote from the Trew, et al web page info:
"Your ETM may not be functioning properly if your “check engine light” or other driver warning messages illuminate, if you notice uneven engine idling . . ."
If you call the ETM number listed on that page and complain, they may help you to get a new one through your dealer. The problem is that time is running out on the warranty, if it hasn't already. It needs to be addressed asap.
