Checking Fuel Pressure

Post by velorider »

I have what seems like a simple question. I tried checking the fuel pressure at the shredder value at the end of the fuel rail. However the gauge showed no pressure even with the engine running. I'm chases down a hesitation around 80mph at 3K rpms. I found posts about some $600 Volvo tool to check pressure, but those seem related to older models. Am I checking the pressure at the right place. It's a 2002 S60 2.4T.

Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Yes, that's the right valve (blue cap). You should check it without the engine running but with your key in position II. With the car running, the fuel is going through the injectors therefore, you won't get a true reading at the valve.
