The power door locks pop back up after a few minutes, and there's a drain on the battery. I was disconnecting the battery every time , but now am removing the fuse because it's easier.
All the wires that run through the rear door hinges seem to be broken. What's the procedure for pulling new ones? It looks like there are 4 or 5 on each side. I suspect that this is the culprit.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
If the door you refer to is the tailgate then this is a common problem on the 240 due to bad design.
Use the search facility at the top of the forum using the keywords - tailgate wiring - and you will find the solution.
