2000 C70 w/ brief, intermittent oil pressure lamp

Post by SpaceCadetSD »

Within the past week my C70's oil pressure lamp has started flickering on (approx. 1-2 seconds) ... mainly when there's lateral force (in a turn like an on/off ramp) or decelerating quickly. Just wondering if anyone's experienced the same, or is aware of a likely cause ... oil pump wearing out? ... pressure sensor going bad?

Thanks in advance!

Centrifugal force in a turn will force the oil away from the pickup in the oil pan. How's your oil level?

The oil level's good, just under maximum on the dipstick ... no oil leaks either. Only concerned because the oil indicator lamp has never come on before, in all the years I've owned the car--even under the same conditions that are now triggering it.

intermittent on and off (over bumps, curves, etc.) sounds more like an electrical connection (with corrosion?) than the actual oil... just my thoughts- hope you figure this out.
