It won't start at all, no noise, no clicking sound, nothing when the key is turned. I jumped power right to the starter and it didn't do anything so I do need a new starter but the small line going to the solenoid has power all the time. This line should only have power when the key is turned to the start position right? How do you troubleshoot this?
I don't know if it matters but last week I had a problem getting spark. The starter worked fine. It was the fuse on the firewall by the power steering that blew. This line comes right off the battery. I accidentally let it go and it shorted out on the frame.
It sparked for a little bit and actually burned some of the oil on the side of the power stering sump.
This more than likely has something to do with the problems I'm having now.
any thought or help will be appreciated
BTW are the Duralast rebuilt starters from Autozone any good?
