240 1993 ABS light and crimped line

Post by 240Dad »

Here is a photo of the left rear brake line from the junction that sits on top of the differential. If all else is well with my ABS system, do you think fixing this would make the light go out? I am assuming, since the sensors for ABS monitor wheel lock up and reduced flow of fluid to the caliper might affect that, that this might be the problem? By the way, I have no idea how this happened.
Thanks,
Bill

It must have been quite a bump in the road to make the diff go that high.

If a fault develops in any part of the ABS, a warning light will usually be illuminated on the vehicle instrument panel, and the ABS will be disabled until the fault is rectified. In your case the valves which measure the hydraulic pressure will be reading very high pressure on that wheel and won't be able to reduce it - warning light comes on.

Hopefully replacing the brake line will solve the problem.
