V70 D5 Alarm error message

Post by jantel »

I turned on the car this morning and was greeted by the message "alarm has been activated", this cleared after about 10 seconds and all was OK, subsiquently every time I turn on the key I get the message "Alarm service required".

Two days ago I gave the car a very thorough clean including under the Bonnet, is it possible that an alarm sensor / switch has been contaminated ?, can this error be reset without recourse to a dealer ?

Thanks Vegas, it looks a very likely candidate so I will investigate over the weekend, can you tell more about reseting using the lock/unlock 3x procedure
