S80 2000 Help on Spark plug, Upper motor mount and Check eng

Post by lalalaking »

Hey, I am a rookie, dont know a lot about autos, so forgive me if you think these questions are too easy
I recently bought a S80 2000 from private seller, and then steering wheel module went dead, only the dealer has the source to get the module ,so I got ripped off by them, and at the serive, I requested a full premium service on the vehicle, where they diagnosed some problems, but I do not know if they are trustworthy. They told me the spark plug is worn out, and the upper motor mount is broken and they asked for 560 in total to get these two parts replaced. I went to autozone asked for help, and the guys there told me actually it wouldnt be that expensive if I bought the parts online, then take them to a bodyshop. So here I am, anyone who can help me on identifying the proper parts? there are too many on different specifications, I am confused.
here is two links I found, will they fit my vehicle? my engine type is 2.9, I guess not a turbo one.

this is the spark plug i intended to buy.

is this the mount thing?? engine mount? upper or top?

and do you think its safe to take them to some shops and without having like being messed up by the mechanics?

Btw, The check engine light pops on, I went to autozone had them scanned, they told me something wrong with the oil leak or loose gas cap, I replaced the cap, but the light remains on. anybody has a hint on how to make it go off ?

ask me if you need additional information to decide the appropriate parts.

Thank you all!
Sorry to bother!
Have a good night!

You can do the plugs yourself. Here's how: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 11&t=17431

You can get the plugs and upper mount from www.tascafordparts.com, www.myswedishparts.com, www.swedishautoparts.com, or Darrell Waltrip Volvo 1-800-689-0021 ask for Jamie or Don.

Use genuine Volvo plugs.

Just change the mount bushing and bolt. You can get a good poly upper at IPD for $26. It comes with installation instructions:

Just be aware if you switch to the urethane bushings that you may experience more vibration through the firewall.

Oh, and Volvo doesn't make spark plugs. I'm using Bosch iridium plugs in my non-turbo.
