Radio Replacement

Post by Roger Moucheron »

I would like to replace my FM/Cassette radio with a original CD/Cassette combo radio SC-816. I have the new radio and the code for it. How do I remove mine?
Help :(

It's very easy - I just did it over the weekend, except mine was the SC815..

On either side of the stereo, about 2/3's of the way down, you will see 2 indentations or cut-out things. If you use a key or something, you can push them in and they will pop-out a little. grab it and pull the tab out fully. Make sure you do it to both sides! When the tabs are fully extended, stick your fingers in the holes and pull it out.. Simple ;)

To install it, plug in the harnesses, slide the radio in fully and push the tabs in. Done.

Thank you. I also read there is a code to be input once the radio is in.
Could you please help if you know anything.

Thank you again.

The code will be a 4-digit "pin" number with the numbers ONLY being 1-6. There will be no 0, 7, 8 or 9..

If you don't have the code, you will need to go to a Volvo dealer to get it. It shouldn't cost anything at all...

If you have the code, it's just as easy. When you get the new radio all installed, turn it on and "CODe" will be displayed on the lcd. Just use the preset buttons to enter the code. This will happen each time power is removed from the radio, so don't forget the code!
