Cooling Fan won't stop

I have a 2002 S60 2.4T and today the cooling fan would not turn off. No engine code shows.

Curious, I have an 02 S60 and this exact same issue happened a few days ago. I've tried replacing the sensor to the left of the injectors hoping it was something that simple, it didn't help. I don't receive any codes either and when I disconnect the additional lead that goes to the fan control unit, it still continues to run. Anyone have any ideas? Is this possibly a bad fan/control unit? Is this similar to the older Volvos that provide a ground connection when the fan should engage vs. a positive lead? Any help is appreciated.

The problem is in the electronic device mounted on the cooling fan itself.

There was an service action on these Volvos in the beggining. You should contact your local dealer or PM me your VIN number so that I can check if this action is still valid on your VOLVO
