My daily driver (1994 960 with climatronic) currently is giving me nothing from the Blower motor. Not even a sound from the vents opening. I replaced the climatronic unit, and the problem stays. The A/C button on the unit just flashes, and still no moving air (on both of the climatronic units). I heard somewhere that it was a simple fix, but I can't seem to find any info on that fix on any Volvo forum out there. I'd like to have this all good to go before the Wisconsin winter hits.

The 960 climate control unit has a self diagnostic capability. The attachment shows how to use it. See which codes if any turn up.

I tried the diagnostics, but the light was still flashing at the same speed, and no codes spit out. Where is the daylight sensor located? Could it be because the AC compressor does not kick on that the codes are not being shown?

Where is the daylight sensor located?
The solar sensor is in the top of the right hand dashboard speaker grille. Shining the light on it fools the system.

Any codes should still register without the compressor as they deal with the whole system.

I thought I would re-visit this, since I am driving the car again, after the Audi 200 developed a charging problem from a bad field wire.

The code I pulled was a 132 when the thread was new, and the code is still 132. It seems Like 132 would be the hardest problem to diagnose, since it is wiring related, rather than any specific part (compressor, light sensor, etc).

Any ideas on where to start?

After pulling the codes, etc, it appears that the sensor element is gone in the interior air temp sensor, meaning open circuit. I am pretty sure that the sensor was ruined when someone put a dome light bulb in last. After attempting to "fool" it into thinking the car was @ 70 deg interior temp, still no heat, and a flashing ECC unit, with code 132.

Any idea on cost, etc of Volvo P/N 3513147?

my mistake, I meant to say it was flashing 131 with a jumper harness in place.

The temp sensor is located behind the glove box, there is a vacuum hose that draws air into it, the end of the hose is in the dome light fixture. Sometimes, that hose will clog with dirt and lint, so try cleaning the hose out at the dome light, see if that helps.

The one behind the glovebox tested within spec (according to alldata and an ohm meter), as did the sensor in the driver's side footwell. The one in the dome light had the element broken off of it, so it was an open circuit. There was a bit of dust caked on the sensor elements, so I took a blowgun and blew the dust off of the sensors and out of the lines.

The only sensor that appeard to have any issues was the dome light unit (broken off element), but I just don't get how that one would cause the entire HVAC system to be rendered useless. (blower motor will not even spin)
