1999 S80 Water in the trunk

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1999 S80 Water in the trunk

Post by stratman3 »

Well we've been having some rain in Orlando fl. and notice my trunk has been getting water in it. I had removed on of the plugs before but never posted the problem. Well it's getting annoying, specially with all the rain. I see that the rear plug, closest to the bumper, has a drain hose connected to it, but it just laying there. Where does it connect to, I cannot find it and I think that's what the problem is, it's got to be some kind of drain from somewhere else.

There's supposed to be a drain for the sunroof, but I don't know if it runs through the trunk. Try looking around the top of the trunk area near the C pillars.

Had a similar problem on another car, not a Volvo, turned out they hadn't installed the tailight gasket.

Didn't know we had a leak it till we needed the spare and had to go diving for it...

All tail light gaskets seem fine. The sunroof drain? I have to look into that.
