v70 awd se 2000 fuel line connection at intake manifold

Post by habstb »

Hello - I am planning on replacing my oil trap and the process looks straightforward except for the fuel line connection on the injector rail. Do I need a special tool and will I need to replace the connector once I take it apart?

Thanks.

Can anyone help me with this :?: The well described post for the 850 has a threaded nut on the fuel line - my v70 xc looks like a compression fitting.

Hi, when I did this job, I carefully unbolted and pulled the fuel rail with the injectors and fuel line attached away from the intake. Now it is possible to rotate the fuel line at the big silver colored fitting and unbolt the torx screws from the bottom of the fuel rail. Slide out the plate that locks the fuel fitting and the injectors to the rail and carefully wiggle the fuel fitting out. When reassembling, a thin coat of Vaseline, or similar on the the injectors and fuel line seals helps everything go back together nicely. The toughest part of that project for me was getting the fuel line routed through the intake manifold correctly, take pictures of your engine before getting it apart, i know that helped me.
