Has anyone done this? It seems to be a total PITA and I am stuck halfway through the job. If anyone has experience doing this, please throw some advice my way! I appreciate it!

The Vadis instructions that you posted are what I was trying to follow...they are VERY vague as far as the amount of work required. I am almost sure that you have to drop the sub-frame to get the job done. I contacted my local Volvo guys and they said that they'll do it for $300 with the part that I am providing. I am probably going to just go that route.
