AC Runs on restart.

Post by MyVolvo »

I have a 2001 Volvo S60 with 130K on it. I'm seeing the following strange behavior, does anyone have a idea of what is happening and how to fix it?

Start Car and drive it. Everything works fine.
Stop the car, switch engine off (run an errand etc)
Restart the Car. The AC comes on and blows like crazy (even if the outside temp is cold). If I turn up the temp dial it continues to run, the heat will come on but the AC is still blowing.

If I start the car and drive to work it runs fine. By the time I get out of work it runs home fine as well. It's just the case where I take it for a drive, switch the engine off for a short period and the start it back up.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like your temp sensor fan has stopped working because it is pluged up with dirt and hair. Go to this website, follow the distructions, fix the issue, save big $$$$. It worked for me.

It this does not get you to the direct webpage issue, try http://www.freewebs.com/howardsvolvos then look for common failures, then ECC has no heat.
