XC70 2004 Dash Lights too dim during daylite hours

Post by StanK »

Cannot read the digital readouts on my 04 XC70 during the daylight hours... is there a way to replace (easily) the sensor for these lights - if there is one? Cannot find squat for info on this subject! Thanks...

Yes, 3 different wattage lights are used in the instrument cluster. I had the same problem and replaced the bulbs behind the hardly visible digits (bottom ones) with the highest wattage bulbs which have the black plastic holders. Just twist them to remove and install.
They are still not visible in sunlight, but much better than before.

Not easy to get the bulbs, let me know where if you get them, I'd like to have some spares.
