940 94" water pouring from engine block

I have a 94 940. Drove tonight 5 minutes before it overheated. Pulled into gas station kept car running water reservoir was bone dry . Very strange, Oil was fine. Started filling reservoir, wouldnt fill but engine cooled off. Water was coming out the bottom of the engine couldnt get the reservoir to fill at all . Radiator was fine no steam. I know I didnt crack the engine block. I want to be told its a hose and that I dont have to replace the water pump. Taking it to a mechanic tomorrow but would like an opinion. Hopefully this is an easy fix.

Which side of the engine was the water coming from and how far from the bottom of the engine was it?
