code for radio

Have a used v70 ,I disconnected the battery to clean the posts and now the radio says code which I don't have . How do I get the stereo to work?

Check your owner's documents for a credit card sized card in the documents folder with a 4 digit number.

Absent the card you will need to provide your VIN number to the service department or the parts department at your (any) dealership and they should be able to look it up for you if the radio is original to the car. I have had good luck with having my wife call on the phone with her "sweet voice" to get it over the phone but they may want you to come in in person so that you can prove ownership.

Under no circumstances should they charge you to get the code.

Don't try punching in random numbers, you only get three tries to get it right before the radio goes to the Off mode which makes it harder to enter the real code.
