1985 Volvo 245 dash warning lights flicker while driving

My 1985 245 has flickering dash warning lights. It has 230,0000 miles and a new wiring harness 1 year ago. A few weeks ago I drove my car to Rocky Mountain National Park(I live in Denver). When I reached about 12,000 feet elevation, the car became sluggish and didn't stop until I drove back down to 5k elevation. So I changed my air filter and drove it back up the mountain....no problems, no sluggishness, but the dash warning light started to flicker. All of the warning lights flicker at any speed. Is this my alt?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The flickering lights indicate the alternator isn't charging the battery correctly. It could just be the brushes need replacing.
