I was able to reconnect it, but it doesn't stay well. This leads me to believe that it may be worn or cracked. It's a bit strange that I can't seem to get the same reading on the bubble level that the other headlight is adjusted to. I run out of adjustment. I did get it better..... I found my core support was not fully secure and tightened the bolt down just behind the corner light. It could be this is remnant from a collision, as I do see signs of bodywork (over spray).

I'm contemplating trying to get a used light, or set of lights, and maybe a set of e-code lenses. I've also thought about going aftermarket with TYC lights or Pro-Parts, but I'm a bit leery of that since other TYC headlights are known to not have reflectors with good optics. I could also just see if that connection holds, and not worry about it unless it doesn't.
Once the adjuster mechanism gets out of whack internally, you really need the assembly out on the bench. Used headlights that old are a roll of the dice, but the 850 reflectors don't seem to degrade as much as the -70 series.
I've had good luck with TYC as well, but like abscate on a V70. I personally wouldn't buy ProParts, unless they made a dogfood dish or something.

Let me know if you need any internal reflector parts - Ive got tons, except for good optical reflectors, of course.

If you do buy new TYCs, make sure the reflectors are seated before installing - thats how I know it really needs to be off the car to put right.

Our friend BigBlock has an 850, and my only pre-98 car hasn't needed headlight attention yet. I also have a small collection of -70 series parts level assemblies. If we can ever find somebody to plasma coat these reflectors, the initial load should be pretty heavy.
