Do we know the difference between the 9200005 stay and the 9157297 stay? Both indicated for s70?wizechatmgr wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 02:31 Sadly the stay is no longer available from FCP, only from Skandix.

Wondering if anyone has a 2000 V70 AWD to see if this works for the potential '99? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... o-30873186
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.
1999 V70 XC AWD 2.4 T -- ~231k miles
1998 V70 2.4 NA -- ~184k miles

This is strange. FCP show the 9157297 part number as only fitting V/S 70 AWD cars, yet the 9200005 part number shows it as fitting the V70XC as well as the V/S70 AWD cars? That makes no sense. I know the rear knuckle on the V70XC is different to the V70 R as the Xc knuckle mounts are in a different position to raise the rear of the car by maybe 10mm?
I think I still have a few crusty stays in the garage. I can't now recall if they are from a V/S70 or V70XC or both. I will try to see if there are still any identifiers on them and measure them.
Update: I have 3 stays that are surface crusty but the bushes look good. Measuring them all they are the same length but unfortunately no part number is still present on any of them. Hole center to center is approx. 543/4mm.
Both parts are still showing as available from Volvo as classic parts but stupid prices 920005 is $270 CDN + taxes from Volvo of Toronto and the 9157297 is listed as $405 + taxes. IPD is also showing this one as in Stock for $242 US on sale. Normal price is nearer $330 US.

If anyone has the dimensions in terms of diameter and length for the XC90/S40/V50 version I can check if it works as I have a spare subframe with bushes and the stay/ panhard rod to check with.
GCP.se who supply the Volvo classic parts have them both listed at $143 US and 272 US + shipping.

If someone has a spare eccentric bolt for the P80 AWD panhard strut please put the M12 x (length) measurement in this thread...

Apologies for the delay in getting this info. I have a parts inventory spread sheet. This only works when you put parts back in the correct place after a previous conversation on this issue!
This was also thwarted by my back up plan of bolts being in the panhard rods I had spare. These have gone to my mechanic buddy for his 850 AWD due to seized bolts!
Parts now located, pictures taken and returned to correct location!
Pictures below and hopefully of help for this project. If you need any more help, let me know!
Note, 90mm to the bottom of the washer, NOT the underside of the head!
Tried to show slot width for the washer 'tooth'. Approximately 3.5mm, but best figured out with a washer.
Slot profile.
Trying to give a reference for the washer dimensions
Tooth height
Bolt part number : 986933
washer part # : 9178264
Hope this helps the project!

Okay, I’m thinking by this bolt and notch it for the toothed washer.
Epoxy washer to top flange, and use regulation washer and nut on bottom

More project notes.
The two eccentric washers have to be indexed together to effect the toein adjustment on the rear suspension. There are two styles of these oem. One of these uses a thin hex machined at the head of the bolt under the flange and a washer with a hex hole which fits that hex
The other style has the eccentric machined into the flange directly.
Neither of these are available new
I see two approaches.
1 grind off the nub of an eccentric washer amd epoxy it flange, indexing it carefully (9 tolerance goal of 5 degree, 0.1 rad)
2. Run the bolt notch all the way up the head and just slide washer up to flange. Might be a bit tight to get the notch ground so close, but a Dremel should do it
