I did not appreciate this feature until now. I assumed the rubber in OE version was bonded to the housing and I was disappointed that my cheap Uro (actually “Anchor”) one was not, and so I experimented by filling the gap with epoxy which ended exactly as you describe, with a shaking dash.abscate wrote: 18 Sep 2022, 04:52 I think there is a lot more engineering in that mount than I appreciated before. The OE version, the rubber is not fit or bonded to the metal, the torque is transferred from the friction of the side of the rubber to center bolt. I bet the damping effect of that is huge and important
What I find confusing is that the underside of the engine appears perfectly still while the upper mount apparently needs to allow a full 1cm of fore-aft movement. My mind wants to picture the engine pivoting around a geometric center, when I guess it really pivots much lower, like the crankshaft region. Of course now that I wrote it that seems obvious and not at all confusing.
