I had the same thought on the fuel pump. After putting the new CEM in and having the same issues I disconnected the fuel pump and the sending unit, but unfortunately nothing changed.
I hate elecs more than anything on a car. This one has been the worst. Next chance I get to spend significant time on the car I will be unplugging one connection at a time and measuring resistance to see if I can isolate where the problem is.

Closing out the thread in case someone else comes across the same issues.
After countless hours of troubleshooting and tracing electrical connections, it turns out that the CEM had an internal fault that will bring up the DTC's I was dealing with. Unfortunately it took two replacement CEM's from XeMODex (the first one had an internal fault as well) and all the time troubleshooting to finally identify and fix the issue. As of today the car is completely fixed and driving as it should without any errors. After this experience its time to sell it and move on.
