Thanks all for the input.

Watched a few videos on pulling the CEM and see xeMoDex does offer a replacement if you want to send to them and avoid soldering.

Will ponder some more…whether to run a fused fuse tap to feed the connector directly or pull the CEM. May wait for better weather to do that job.

Thought I should post a conclusion to this one. I finally dug into it and lesson is the same as usual—start with the easy stuff first.

Fuse was not broken but looked like it had maybe gotten hot. New fuse addressed the issue and no longer have the socket cutting out after a few hours of driving.

Why the fuse failure? Maybe was just loose in fuse holder? I have run a Uniden radar detector and the Bluetooth FM Modular in the socket with a fused splitter, doubt that has enough current to cause issues. Will have to keep an eye on it.
