That's excellent. I know David gives his best effort and most of it is just routine however. I took a drive Thursday for the first time and found the everything does light up but for some reason the Trip Odometer settings T1 & T2 will default to the mileage when the damage to the board occurred. The clock will also reset to ---- after shut off. In the message board all the data such fuel til empty and other all default to a number but will reset and work till it's restarted.

Not sure if it's the trace damage or heat but David spent a lot of time working on it. Super glad yours worked out. For now as long as the Odometer is rolling ahead correctly I'm okay with it. Will check in with David sometime to see if he knows how to correct it or if it's possible.
.
Blessings,

BKM

My local U pull it style yard gives you a 30 day warranty, so if it doesnt work you can return it, and try another.

Only thing is the mileage. If the donor car has a lower mileage, jackpot, the cluster odometer will come up to match your internal computer mileage. If the donor mileage is higher than yours, it will not come down, and it'll display the higher number

when i was hunting for an odometer for my 02. I found 2 that worked, 1 rebuilt unit, but with a much higher mileage, and a replaced unit that had a lower mileage, that came up to display the correct mileage.

Wonder if the correct mileage is now permanent in the DIM?

yes, volvo clusters only go 1 way - up.

I thought so too until I swapped a low mileage cluster from eBay.

- 2004 V70 142K miles...cluster failed. Pixels going crazy, fuel, engine temp and speedometer gauges did not work.

- Found a used cluster on eBay for $65. The seller was nice enough to post pics with cluster showing 128K.

- After installation of eBay cluster, I thought I'd end up with142K bc it is a higher number. Wrong, I ended up with 128K.

- So for now, I always have to remember adding the difference of 14K to the current cluster reading for my service records.

When I swapped the cluster on my 00 P80, the car indicated the mileage on the replacement cluster. However, when I tried to connect Vida to check other issues, it would not talk to the ECU/TCU I'm guessing as there was a programming mismatch on the Vin#'s.

On a P80 that can't be reprogrammed according to Volvo to prevent tampering. This may have changed on a P2. Maybe the guys out there that fix these know better.
